Dave Drwencke was born in Milwaukee, WI and moved to the great state of Michigan before he turned two. He lived in Cadillac, MI for 8 years before moving to Shelby Township, his current residence.

He attended Notre Dame High School graduating Cum Laude and as a member of the National Honors Society. Dave was also a 4 year varsity basketball player and was selected All-League and All-State as a senior. His nomination to the prestigious McDonalds All-American team rates as one of his most proud moments.

Dave was recruited nationally to play college basketball but chose instead to focus on academics, selecting Albion College. During his freshman year Dave continued to play basketball and also joined the Albion College Republicans. Dave quickly proved himself a valuable member and leader in the chapter, and was elected chapter chairman.

Dave has also worked for the Michigan Republican Party, Dick DeVos for Governor, Mike Bouchard for US Senate and the Leadership Institute.

Dave is currently a student at Albion College and is majoring in Public Policy and is a member of the Ford Institute for Public Policy and Service.

  • DeVos for Governor, Field Staff
  • Bouchard for US Senate, Field Staff
  • MRP, Field Staff
  • State Youth Chair, Romney for President
  • As Albion College Chapter Chair, conducted record-breaking membership drives that built the organization to its largest size ever
  • Lead Albion CRs to a national top 10 spot for Social Security petition drive signatures
  • Hosted a campus College Republicans week, in which several speakers and candidates for office participated
  • Built relationships with other chapters through coordinated activities and events

Michigan College Republicans chapters are at their best, but the Michigan Federation of College Republicans is not. The MFCR needs bold, results-oriented leadership to develop the grassroots army necessary for 2008 Election Day victories. Joining Dave's team is the first step in building a stronger Federation.
